The intended audience for this article is Agents and Insureds/End Customers.
When creating or changing a password, your password must:
Be at least 10 characters long
Include an uppercase letter
Include a lowercase letter
Include a number
Include a special character
Not be a commonly used or easily guessed password
Meeting the basic character requirements doesn't necessarily mean a password will be accepted. Wunderite also checks for passwords and patterns that are commonly used or easier to guess.
Common and easily guessed passwords
A password can meet every character requirement and still be easy to guess. Adding a number, capital letter, or symbol to a familiar word doesn't necessarily make it a strong password.
Wunderite may reject passwords that:
Are commonly used passwords or close variations of them
Use predictable sequences, repeated characters, or keyboard patterns
Combine common words with predictable substitutions, numbers, years, or symbols
Include information associated with your account, such as your name, email address, or organization
For example, changing letters to similar-looking numbers or adding a year and symbol to a common word may satisfy the character requirements while remaining predictable.
Wunderite evaluates whether a password is commonly used or easily guessed. We don't publish the specific passwords, patterns, or other criteria used by these checks because doing so could make them less effective.
Choosing a password
Use a password that's unique to your Wunderite account and difficult for someone else to predict.
Avoid passwords based on:
Common words or predictable combinations
Simple keyboard or repeating patterns
Your name or email address
Your organization or other information closely associated with your account
A longer, unique password or passphrase is generally easier to remember and harder to guess than a short password built around a familiar word.
If your password isn't accepted
Wunderite will show which password requirements still need to be met. If your password meets the character requirements but is identified as commonly used or too easy to guess, you'll need to choose a different password.
This means the password you selected matches a common or predictable pattern that Wunderite doesn't allow.
